How To Join The Order

Application For Membership

How To Join The Order

To join the Sacred Order of Living Paganism, you need to

  • be at least 18 years old (younger people can join the League of Youth);
  • find or request a Mentor or Academy Teacher through a Circle of the Order;
  • state that you agree with and will abide by the Principles and Precepts of the Order for as long as you remain a member of the Order;
  • obtain a journal (Book of Days);
  • obtain a binder to begin your Book of Whimsy; and
  • enact a personal or group ritual dedicating yourself to learning and studying within the Order;

Once you have found a Teacher or Academy who has agreed to accept you as a student and have done the above activities, you will then be considered a Member of the of that Academy. If the Academy is part of a Circle, you can become an Associate Member of that Circle.

To remain active in the Order, you must show evidence of practice and study. If there is no activity for more than a year and a day, the member will be considered inactive.

Application For Membership


To become a member of the Order, you should acknowledge that you:

  • have read completely the Three Principles of the Order;
  • concur with the Three Principles of the Order;
  • have read completely the Five Precepts of the Order;
  • agree to abide by the Five Precepts of the Order; and
  • agree to resign from the Order if you cannot abide by these Principles and Precepts and/or remain inactive for more than a year.
  • answer completely the following questions:

1) If Joining the Order is meant to be an honor and a recognition of personal growth, scholarship and excellence as a practicing Pagan, how shall you live your life as a member of the Order to reflect these ideals?

2) How will being a member of the Order help you grow and live as a Pagan and as an individual?

3) Have you read, understood, and do you agree to abide by the Five Precepts and the Three Principles of the Order as long as you are a member?
